Return to Daylightאור חדש

Defending and Restoring Liberty Under Siege

"As nightfall does not come all at once, neither does oppression.
In both instances, there is a twilight when everything remains seemingly unchanged.
And it is in such a twilight that we all must be most aware of
change in the air -- however slight -- lest we become
unwitting victims of the darkness."

Justice William O. Douglas

The mission of Return to Daylight - Or Hadash
is to build a network of Jewish Americans who:
    • are aware of their stake in democracy and democratic institutions in America,
    • are aware of the current peril and erosion our democratic institutions face;
    • are ready to take action in support of those institutions.

We believe that our tradition demands that we take a stand for liberty and the rule of law, against torture, and against the abuse of power.  Or Hadash will use the themes already present in Jewish sacred time to help educate and activate the Jewish community

“Ours is not to complete the task, but neither may we desist from beginning it.”
                             Pirke Avot   2:21

Or Hadash USA is a proud Community Partner of Dawn 2008, an all-night cultural arts festival celebrating the Grand Opening of San Francisco's Contemporary Jewish Museum and the Jewish festival of Shavuot.
